Position Summary

We seek one passionate and nurturing Physical and Health Education Teacher to provide high-quality early childhood education that prepares students for lifelong learning while upholding our school’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive Physical and Health Education program aligned with the BC Curriculum across core subject areas
  • Promote the development of advanced literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Create a safe, engaging, inclusive, and culturally respectful classroom environment that fosters student growth and accountability
  • Use project-based, inquiry-driven, and interactive instructional strategies to enhance student learning
  • Assess student learning and development through diverse formative and summative assessment tools and provide meaningful feedback
  • Collaborate with subject teachers, support staff, and families to support student achievement and well-being
  • Encourage respectful behaviour, personal responsibility, and social-emotional development in students
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development days, and school events to contribute to a collaborative school culture

Qualifications

  • B.Ed. in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate or in-progress application with the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
  • Experience in a Kindergarten or early learning setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of child development and BC curriculum

Compensation

  • $60,490–$83,613 CAD/year (based on qualifications and experience)
