Position Summary
We are hiring a forward-thinking and experienced STEM Teacher to teach Physics, Mathematics, and Science to Grades 11 and 12. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence and can foster curiosity and critical thinking in senior-level students preparing for university and technical careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach senior-level Physics, Math (Pre-Calculus/Calculus), and Science following the BC curriculum.
- Use lab-based, digital, and real-world learning strategies to engage students.
- Prepare students for post-secondary STEM programs and national assessments.
- Differentiate instruction for varied learning needs and styles.
- Evaluate and report on student learning through various assessment tools.
- Integrate technology, inquiry, and research-based learning.
- Contribute to school clubs, competitions (e.g., Science Fairs), and academic events.
- Collaborate with the Science and Math departments and contribute to curriculum planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Science Education supplemented by a valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Minimum 2 years teaching senior-level high school courses preferred
- Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an engaging intermediate program aligned with the BC curriculum
- Ability to challenge high-achieving students while supporting diverse learners
Compensation
- $60,490–$83,613 CAD/year (based on qualifications and experience)
