Position Summary
Dasmesh Punjabi School seeks a certified and skilled Trades Technology Teacher with woodworking, metalwork, robotics, power technology, or automotive technology expertise to lead our hands-on Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (ADST) program for middle and high school students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and practical ADST curriculum (Grades 6–12).
- Teach safety, tool use, material handling, and design principles.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe shop environment.
- Integrate project-based learning with real-world applications.
- Support students in developing design thinking, teamwork, and technical skills.
- Monitor student progress and assess using rubrics, portfolios, and projects.
- Participate in school-wide tech and vocational initiatives.
- Maintain tools and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance student learning.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Related Red Seal Trades Qualification, and/or valid BC Teaching Certificate with a specialty in Technology Education
- Experience teaching woodwork, drafting, robotics, metal, or automotive subjects
- Strong knowledge of ADST curriculum, shop safety standards and best practices
- Ability to inspire and motivate hands-on learners
Compensation
- $60,490–$83,613 CAD/year (based on qualifications and experience)
