Dasmesh Bus Transportation Information

Dear Parents,

We look forward to welcoming your child(ren) aboard our buses in the 2024-25 school year! Our goal is to provide a safe, healthy, and caring space for all of our students during their bus journeys. Please review the DPS Bus Code of Conduct with your child. We are confident that following these guidelines will contribute to a pleasant ride for everyone.

If your information changes, please notify the school immediately by email to [email protected]

Bus Code of Conduct:

  1. Be On Time: Arrive at the bus stop on time. This ensures a smooth and timely journey for everyone.
  2. Boarding the Bus and Staying Seated: Line in the loading zone and remain in your assigned seat throughout the journey. Do not stand in a moving bus and keep your head and arms inside and not out the window. This ensures safety for everyone on the bus. Keep the aisle clear at all times.
  3. Electronic Devices: No loud music, use of electronic devices, taking pictures, or recording videos during the bus ride.
  4. Be Respectful: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Be polite and considerate to fellow students and the driver.
  5. Listen to the Bus Driver: Follow the driver’s instructions promptly. They’re here to keep us all safe, so let’s show them the respect they deserve.
  6. Use Inside Voices: Keep noise levels low. Conversations and laughter are great, but let’s make sure it’s not disruptive to others. Swearing, rowdiness or throwing of any objects is not acceptable.
  7. Keep it Clean: No food, drink, chewing gum, or littering. Take care of the bus environment by disposing of garbage properly. Let’s work together to keep our bus clean and comfortable.
  8. No Bullying: Bullying is not acceptable. Treat everyone with kindness and report any concerns to the bus staff or your school.
  9. No Hazardous Items: Avoid bringing hockey sticks or any equipment that may cause injuries or issues on the bus.
  10. Follow Emergency Procedures: In case of an emergency, listen to the driver’s instructions and follow the emergency procedures calmly and quickly. Exit windows and doors must not be opened or tampered with unless it is an emergency.

Remember, our bus is an extension of our school community. By following these guidelines, we create a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for being a respectful and responsible bus rider!

Additional Guidelines:
  • Students will be picked up only from assigned stops determined by the school committee.
  • Parents are responsible for ensuring their child is at the assigned stop 5 minutes before the bus arrives, as buses will not wait.
  • Door-to-door pickup is not possible; buses will not go to cul-de-sacs or certain inside roads.
  • Parents of primary students, especially KINDERGARTEN, are responsible for safely boarding and receiving their children from the bus.
Important Notes:
  • Requests for refunds and changes in bus routes during the school year will not be accepted, especially if the new address is not on the current route.
  • If your new address does not fall on a current bus route, it will not be obligatory for the school bus to pick up your child from the new address thus please make sure of your circumstances and plan accordingly.
  • The bus service will be confirmed in the last week of May 2024.
  • Parents will be informed about the assigned bus stop in August 2024. No changes can be requested until mid-September 2024.
