Mr. Romana has been a founding member of the board of Dasmesh Punjabi School since the days of 1985 when it was just a weekend school. His children proudly attended and he continues to serve long after they have graduated. Mr. Romana is a general insurance agent with Saxbee Insurance and his service to the community has been widely recognized.
Mrs. Karamjit Sandhu has been involved with Dasmesh Punjabi School for over 25 years as a parent and volunteer. Her children were registered at the school by their grandmother before they were able to walk, and it’s a decision that has never been regretted since. Mrs. Sandhu has been working in the health care system since 1989 in various capacities…Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Educator, etc. She instructs in the Open Learning Faculty of Thompson Rivers University and is a valuable asset to the board.
As a founding members of Dasmesh Punjabi School, local resident and business man Mr. Brar saw the real need for a school that encompassed our beliefs and culture while providing a BC Ministry Education. He is proud that his children and now grandchildren have had the opportunity to reap the rewards of the school that Mr. Brar and his team worked so hard to build. He looks forward to building Dasmesh Punjabi School to be the premier institution in the province.
Mr. Bansal’s keen eye for numbers and dedication to Dasmesh Punjabi School have been apparent in his multiple years of serving as treasurer of the board. His accounting background lends itself well to the team and he endeavours to the values of the school while keeping it up to date and transparent.
Being a father of children in the school Mr. Brar has directly seen the positive impact, safe environment and leadership skills instilled at Dasmesh Punjabi School. He has whole heartedly served on the board since 2011. A realtor with Century 21, Mr. Brar devotes time and expertise to the Dasmesh Punjabi School on a regular basis.
A father of children who have graduated from Dasmesh Punjabi School, Mr. Dhillon believes not only in the fundamental values of the school but he sees the positive impact on his own children. A realtor/developer by trade, Mr. Dhillon commits himself to Dasmesh Punjabi School not only as a parent but an active board member.
As an active volunteer with DPS for 8+ years, Deep is invested in contributing to her children’s school by joining the Board of Directors. Her proactive involvement includes initiating programs and leading successful fundraising activities. Deep’s professional history in HR services, especially in consulting and project management, provides the Board with valuable insights and expertise, delivering a strategic viewpoint.
Originally from India, Rajwinder moved to Canada in 2004 and made his way to Abbotsford by way of Winnipeg. Since 2009, he has been serving the community in various capacities through organizations, associations and fundraising activities, including as a Realtor. Rajwinder also has a passion for basketball and enjoys coaching and serving as the Athletic Director at DPS.
The most recent addition to the team in 2023, Mr. Dhaliwal brings over a decade of experience from the Fraser Valley Funeral Home, where they were a founding member. Since 1992, he has been successfully working as a Realtor and Developer. Beyond his business acumen, Mr. Dhaliwal actively contributes to the school’s mission through his involvement in Gurmat and Kirtan programs.
